Hilary Whitby

Me: I am a facilitator, consultant and coach with over 30 varied years experience in developing people and teams in business. I trained as a Structural Consultant and Business Strategist with Robert Fritz. This approach helps clients visualise an end result and identify and master the blocks to achieving goals. I am a Leadership Challenge™ Workshop facilitator - Initially as a Tom Peter’s Company consultant where I also developed the Leader as Coach Programme. Throughout my career I have developed and directed a variety of experiential leadership initiatives using both the outdoor and indoor environments as a vehicle for team and individual learning. More recently I established the Real Time Leadership Programme which has been used across the construction industry.

My approach: My main focus is to enable individuals and teams to identify real aspirations, explore their thinking and achieve their desired end results. I build a relationship based on trust with my clients and assure them of confidentiality. I always aim to achieve and convey empathy, listen and ask good questions. I find that true learning is uncomfortable and often there are hidden fears and blocks hindering excellent performance. Establishing the necessary rapport means I can offer the appropriate support and challenge.

My aim: I believe it is possible to make extraordinary things happen in organisations and to achieve excellence. I am passionate about people realising their potential and aim to enable them to find out their true vision, be honest about what really matters to them and express their aspirations clearly. I strive to help leaders and managers to bring out the best in their people and create an exciting workplace environment

Professional skills and expertise: I am a qualified teacher and have a Laban Art of Movement Certificate. I studied Structural Consulting with Robert Fritz and am certified to teach the Creating Course - based on the principles of Personal Mastery. I have completed the Coaching for Organisational Consultants course at Ashridge Management College and am a member of the Ashridge Alumni. I am qualified to use MBTI and am an NLP Practitioner.

My clients: Kraft Foods; Barclays Bank; Nortel; 3 mobile; Rolls Royce; Pepsico; Hexagon; Texas instruments; Friends Provident; Ecclesiastical; The Heidelberg group; Gripple; George Wimpey; Galliford Try. More recently I have been working with Shell International; Telford Homes and with a local school coaching the head teacher and senior leadership team.
